One of the missions of the Bronxville Women's Club is its Philanthropic pursuits and Community relations.  Many members donate their time and talents to organizations throughout Westchester and the surrounding community.  The Club raises funds throughout the year to donate to local worthwhile organizations, and the building is made available at a substantial discount for not-for-profit organizations.

The Bronxville Women's Club is a 501(c)(3) organization.  Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable of the IR code.  Besides our philanthropic endeavors, this designation helps us with our mission to keep the building sound for today and future generations.  Please feel free to contact the VP of Philanthropy if you would like to help in keeping the historic building sound.

For the 2010-11 Season the BWC raised funds and donated goods to several organizations, including:

       The Pajama Program               Yonkers Animal Shelter

       Troops in Afghanistan              Japan Earthquake Relief

       Winter Coat Collection             E.C.A.P.

       My Sister's Place                    Midnight Run

A thank you letter to the BWC:

"Our Lady of Fatima Church in Scarsdale extends a heartfelt thanks to The Bronxville Women's Club for their generosity in donating snacks and toiletries for our troops overseas this past Christmas.  The Club was able to fill six large cartons that were sent to Marines stationed on the front lines in Afghanistan.  They were most appreciative."

Report on Collection for Japan Relief:

"We are happy to report that the money collected from the concert for Japan Relief was sent by bank transfer directly to the Japanese Red Cross through the Tokyo Govermnment and Public Institution Office at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in Tokyo.  Thanks to all who donated."  ...............Bernadette Smith, Chair

Donation of the Month

The BWC collects items each month for a specific organization.  Anyone wishing to donate may bring items to the club anytime during the month.

September:  Pledge or volunteer to walk for the Westchester Walk to End Alzheimer's.  Sign-up is at the BWC. Walk will be on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at White Plains High School.

October and November:  Canned and Packaged Goods for the Westchester Food Pantry.

December:  Children's Books and School Supplies for Grades 1-8.

March:  New socks, underwear, and other supplies for the troops.

April:  Clean, used linens and other pet supplies for the Animal Shelter.

May:  New underwear and lingerie for women in the Women's Shelter (They particularly need new bras, all sizes.)
