Instructor:  Ed Oberhaus.  For more information and background on Mr. Oberhaus, please visit his website at www.edoberhausstudio.com.

                                                      Course Description

This course focuses on both traditional and new painting and drawing techniques in all media (oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel and pencil) for all levels of art proficiency, with emphasis on mastering composition and judging the relationship between spaces. Classroom painting will encourage individual work as a means of developing a person's own distinctive style,  while brief weekly sketching and drawing assignments will be used to stimulate observational skills. Short introductory talks will be given on human anatomy, perspective, light sources, layering, coloring, shadows, and new techniques in sketching and drawing as well as on the time-honored practice of copying the masters. Class time will be devoted to student painting and drawing, with special  attention given to each student.
