A ten-week course to begin in March with Wednesday evening classes to run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with attendance limited to ten (10) students. Both men and women welcome! This course focuses on both traditional and new painting and drawing techniques in all media (oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel and pencil) for all levels of art proficiency, with emphasis on mastering composition and judging the relationship between spaces. Classroom painting will encourage individual work as a means of developing a person's own distinctive style, while brief weekly sketching and drawing assignments will be used to stimulate observational skills. Short introductory talks will be given on human anatomy, perspective, light sources, layering, coloring, shadows, and new techniques in sketching and drawing as well as on the time-honored practice of copying the masters. Class time will be devoted to student painting and drawing, with special attention given to each student.

An Introduction to Acting Shakespeare
Shakespeare Primer on Richard III led by Ivy Omere of the New York Shakespeare Workshop Company. We will work in the fashion of an ensemble theater company with games and exercises specifically designed to develop listening and responding skills. We will work together in a circle and will rehearse and perform scenes from the play. There will also be the opportunity to learn some tried and tested vocal exercises for the correct use of the voice both for theater and for life.
