The BWC's monthly activities cover a wide range of interests: American Home, Garden, Art, Health, Finance, Literature, and more. Since the building belongs to the BWC, we are able to schedule events to suit our members when they want them: morning, afternoon, evening, weekends. Here is a sampling of upcoming activities.
Art Exhibits

The Club invites artists to exhibit their works on a rotating monthly basis. Opening receptions, usually held the first Sunday of the month, are open to the public. Contact the club if you are interested in exhibiting your works.

Club Day
Club Day is the monthly business meeting of the Club. Usually held the second Tuesday of each month, October through May, at 1:30 pm.
Tuesday, March 9. Business meeting at 1:30 for club members only. 2:00 program open to the public. Afternoon Tea follows program.
Dance and YogaThe BWC offers dance and ballet instruction for children and adults with the Ballet Arts-The Performing Arts Center of Southern Westchester. For further information, contact them at www.ballet-arts.net. 
Open to the public. Classes held October through May with opportunities for performance at the Bronxville Women's Club.
Ballroom Dancing instruction for children taught by the Barclays Dance Studio.
Yoga instruction through the Bronxville Adult School.
Philanthropy
Collect articles for the Midnight Run and the Montrose Veterans Hospital. Raise funds to donate to local charities. Club members are very generous with their time and talents to local not-for-profit organizations.
When you purchase a ticket for the Midland Music concerts, a portion of the ticket sales will go to a local charity. (For further information on these, go to the individual pages on this website. Thanks in advance!)
Calligraphy Classes
Learn the art of beautiful handwriting.
Literature
Monthly programs of book reviews, creative writing, poetry readings.
Thursday, March 25, at 1:30 pm. Shirley Homes will give a talk and a reading. No fee.
Meets most Tuesday afternoons for casual play. Free lessons in American mah-jongg for those who would like to learn and play. No charge for BWC members; $3.00 for non-members. Call 914-337-3252 or email laurie@bronxvillewomensclub.org for more information.
Membership
The BWC always welcomes new members and those interested in the club whether it be the building or the programs. Next Open Meeting will be on Tuesday, April 27, from 5 -7 pm.
Monthly Luncheon and Games
The first Wednesday of the month October through June. Luncheon followed by games of your choice. Members and their guests. Advance reservations.
Next Luncheon: March 3, then April 7. Noon.
MINI SOCIAL on Thursday, March 18, beginning at 11:30 am. Bring your own lunch. Beverages and dessert provided. Sara Bellesheim and Susan Pfeister will be the hosts. Advance reservations.
EVENING FOURSOMES are drop-in bridge sessions from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Monday evenings. Or, if you prefer, chess, mah-jongg, or other board or card games with friends. For members only, no charge. Call the club for information.
DUPLICATE on the fourth Monday of the month, September through May; no session in December. Test the skills you have learned during our monthly sessions. Bring a partner, all levels. Open to the public. No play in December.Next session: March 22. Call club for reservations and/or information.
Music
Hot Coffee!! Hot Music!!
The BWC Coffee House evening on March 26 will feature the Hudson Harp Consort, with flute and fiddle, featuring tunes from the British Isles. Enjoy listening with friends while enjoying coffee/tea/hot chocolate with a dessert buffet. BYOB. Admission: BWC members: $15; non-members: $20. For Children (of all ages): Showing of the videos of Leonard Bernstein’s YOUNG PEOPLE’S CONCERTS with the New York Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall. Filmed and viewed nationwide on CBS television, and eventually telecast around the world from 1958 through 1973, these 25 programs turned an entire generation into music lovers. No generation since has had such exposure to classical music. No admission charge. Continues on Tuesday, Janaury 26. Open to the public.
Music Appreciation with Liza Kopelman and Joyce Balint scheduled for Thursday, March 11, at 11:00 am. Free.
Open Dress Rehearsals. Professional performers are invited to try out their programs in our concert hall in front of an audience. Nominal suggested donations.
Next Midland Music Concert will feature club president Joyce Balint performing on the violin and mandolin and Music Chair Elizavita Kopelman on piano with guest artist Susan Jolles on harp at 2:00 pm. Beautiful and entertaining music to watch and listen. The concert concludes with an Irish melody arranged by Glenn Hardy for the Trio. You'll surely not want to miss it!

Special Events
We celebrate Women's History Month with a look at Marian MacDowell, pianist and wife of American composer Edward MacDowell. She worked endlessly to see the fruition of the MacDowell Colony, America's oldest artist colony for all the disciplines.
The Villager
