The Bronxville Women's Club, Inc.

The Bronxville Women's Club is a member of The Westchester County Federation of Women's Cubs, Inc.  The W.C.F.W.C. was formed in 1921 to "Stimulate and unite the interest and influence of the Women's Clubs in Westchester County and to promote the welfare of the County in Civic, Legislative, Educational, Philanthropic, Moral and Cultural Matters."

Objectives over the Decades

• 1920's - Pushed for a full-time Children's Court, the Women's Vote, and selected our first Woman of the Year.
• 1930's - Studied the problems of Public Welfare and the need for Legal Aid for the poor and raised funds to make possible the handling of 5,000 cases by the Legal Aid Society.
• 1940's - War work absorbed the W.C.F.W.C. and we raised funds for Nursing Scholarships and investigated Volunteer Needs. We became more involved in Cultural Activities.  We sponsored Art Exhibits for Westcheser Residents.  The Beaux Arts Finale is still in existence.  Many well known Westcheser Artists continue to exhibit in the Beaux Arts Finale.
• 1950's - Concerned about Employment for School Dropouts, the need for Educational Guidance and Recreation Centers.
• 1960's - Concentrated on Education, honoring Westchester Science Engineering Fair Junior Winners and started in 1963 giving Scholarships to women students at Westchester Community College.  We give $1000 Scholarships.  To date, over 160 students have received our scholarships.
• 1970/80's - Expanded Volunteer efforts for the needs of the County.
• 1990's - Concerned with Safety in the Schools, Activities for the Children, and the needs of our ever-growing Senior population in our communities.
• 2000's - Support our brave men and women serving throughout the world; working for peace and in these difficult economic times, providing support where needed.  Westcheser County Federation continues to follow our Objectives.
